About Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park sits at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Kajiado County, southern Kenya. The park covers 392 sq km of open savannah, wetland swamps and acacia woodland, with the snow-capped dome of Kilimanjaro as its permanent backdrop. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds, some of the most studied elephant populations in the world. The Enkongo Narok and Longinye swamps provide permanent water that attracts wildlife year-round.
