Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 22 September 2026 · Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd
Welcome to Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd. By accessing our websites (www.foursixafrica.com, safarizuru.com and safarizuru.co.ke) and booking our services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Contractual agreement
All bookings are made with Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd (Registration: PVT-EYU3YGQ8), trading as Safarizuru and hereinafter referred to as "the Company". A contract exists as soon as the Company issues a booking confirmation following receipt of a deposit or full payment.
2. Payment policy
By booking an adventure with Safarizuru, you agree to the following payment structure. These terms ensure we can secure the permits, vehicles and accommodation needed to give you a world-class experience.
Booking and deposit requirements
The deposit required to confirm your reservation depends on the trip, and the exact deposit is shown on each trip page and in your booking confirmation. As a guide:
- Day hikes and day tours: a fixed booking deposit per person (for example, KES 1,500) secures your slot and transport. The balance is due before departure, by the date shown on the trip page.
- Multi-day safaris and camping expeditions: a 30% deposit secures lodge bookings and vehicle allocation. If you cancel more than 45 days before departure, 15% of the total cost is non-refundable and the rest of your deposit is refunded, as set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
- Mt. Kenya 90-Day Beginner Program: payment is made per hike (100% upfront) or via a discounted full-program package.
- Private and tailor-made tours: a 50% deposit is required due to the customised nature of these itineraries.
Final payment (balance)
- For multi-day trips and safaris, the remaining balance must be settled no later than 30 days before the departure date, unless a different date is shown on the trip page.
- If a booking is made after the balance due date has passed, full payment (100%) is required immediately upon confirmation.
- Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking, with cancellation fees applied in line with our cancellation policies.
Lipa Mdogo Mdogo (pay in instalments)
After paying the required deposit, you may pay the balance in instalments of any amount, as long as the full balance is cleared by the balance due date shown on the trip page. No interest is charged on instalment payments.
Accepted payment methods
- M-Pesa: via our official Till Number 4986224 (Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd).
- Credit and debit cards: secure online payments (Visa, Mastercard, AMEX) via our website portal, where available.
- Bank transfer: direct deposits to our KCB or NCBA corporate accounts (details provided on invoicing).
- Direct invoicing: for corporate groups and retreat bookings.
All bank transfer charges and card processing fees are the responsibility of the client.
Rates and price changes
- All quotes are valid for 14 days from the date of issue.
- While we aim to keep prices fixed, Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd reserves the right to adjust rates in the event of government-mandated increases in national park fees (KWS/TRA), VAT, or significant fuel surcharges.
- For international payments, the exchange rate at the time of the transaction applies.
Gear and equipment fees
- Payment for gear rental (boots, poles, sleeping bags) must be made in full at the time of booking or on collection.
- A refundable security deposit may be required for high-value equipment.
Late bookings
Bookings made less than 72 hours before a day hike or 14 days before a safari are subject to availability and must be paid in full immediately. A late booking fee may apply to cover expedited logistics.
3. Medical conditions and physical fitness
- Certain tours, specifically our Mt. Kenya 90-Day Beginner Program and high-altitude hikes, require a high level of physical fitness.
- It is the client's responsibility to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies or physical limitations at the time of booking.
- The Company reserves the right to decline a participant if their physical condition poses a safety risk to themselves or the group.
4. Gear and equipment rental
For items rented from our Mountain & Tactical Store:
- Liability: the client is responsible for the equipment from the time of pickup or delivery until it is returned.
- Damage or loss: in the event of loss or significant damage beyond normal wear and tear, the client will be charged the full replacement value of the item.
- Safety: while we provide field-tested gear, the Company is not liable for injuries resulting from misuse of equipment.
5. Cancellations and changes
Cancellations, refunds, postponements and date changes are governed by our cancellation policies, which form part of these Terms:
- Cancellation & Refund Policy, for safaris, day trips, private tours and accommodation.
- Hikes Cancellation Policy, for day hikes, overnight trips and mountain expeditions.
The policy that applies to your booking is shown on the trip page.
6. Liability and risk
- Inherent risk: safari and mountain adventures involve an element of personal risk. Wildlife encounters, remote terrain and weather changes are unpredictable.
- Limitation of liability: Foursix Zuru Africa Ltd, its directors and staff shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, death, or damage to personal property, except where such loss is caused by the Company's proven negligence.
- Force majeure: the Company cannot be held liable for changes or cancellations caused by war, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, natural disasters or government travel restrictions.
7. Travel insurance
It is a mandatory condition of booking that all international clients have comprehensive travel insurance. For local clients, we strongly recommend personal accident cover. The Company is licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority (Licence No. TRA1/47/C04/67073), but our insurance does not cover personal medical emergencies or trip curtailment.
8. Code of conduct and conservation
As a brand committed to sustainable tourism, we expect all clients to:
- respect local cultures and communities;
- follow all KWS and national park regulations on wildlife interaction; and
- follow "Leave No Trace" principles, with strictly no littering in parks or on trails.
The Company reserves the right to end a tour without refund if a client's behaviour is illegal, abusive or endangers others.
9. Photography and marketing
The Company may take photographs and videos during tours for promotional use on our websites and social media (@safarizuru). Clients who prefer not to be featured must tell the guide at the start of the trip.
10. Governing law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
